Author Jennie Allen Says “Jesus Wants a Relationship With You” on the TODAY Show

Handling your emotions is an impossible task.

We all have emotions. With everything that the world throws at you even just within the time span of one day, no one ever really “keeps it together,” 24/7. And here’s the truth to that first statement: handling your emotions alone is an impossible task.

Author, speaker, and podcaster Jennie Allen was featured on the TODAY show to discuss her New York Times Best Seller novel “Untangle Your Emotions.”

In this book, Jennie navigates how emotions are not something we need to fix, but something we need to feel. After all, God gave us emotions and Jesus felt them when he came to Earth as a human. Jennie shares the journey of sharing her emotions and how they ultimately bring you closer to God.

“And He wants you to come to Him and share exactly what’s going on. Because of Jesus, we can do this without shame and fear.” | Jennie Allen

It’s very freeing to realize that emotions don’t have to be a negative thing. That God created every part of your body, soul, and mind on purpose for a purpose.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” | Philippians 4:6-7

So if you’re in a cycle of overthinking, stressed to the max, or sad about all of the hurt and pain that life brings you, just lay it at the feet of Jesus. You’re not alone. You don’t have to fix it or do it by yourself. God wants to hear your heart, and He will always be there for you.
