National TV Anchor Stands Up for Life Inside the Womb

In a culture that ‘cancels’ instead of dialogues, Myrka Dellanos was courageous in standing up for her pro-life views.

Co-host of Telemundo’s The Hot Table and Vida Unida Morning Show co-host, Myrka is one of the few in her space that would have voiced such a taboo, pro-life viewpoint. The Hot Table, a talk show hosted by four women with a similar structure to The View, were discussing Oklahoma’s Senate Bill 612. A law that was passed last year which prohibits the performance or even attempted performance of an abortion, making it a fellony offense.

Each co-host had very differing views, one calling abortion a gray area and another expressing the horror of having to keep an unwanted baby. But Myrka took the opportunity to be a voice for the unborn.

She boldly spoke up, telling viewers,

“There’s another choice. That you don’t have to kill the baby. That baby was created from the beginning of the universe, created with a divine plan from God. In other words, who is advocating for the right of the babies – who are babies?”

Myrka continued,

“92% of women who hear the baby’s heartbeat decide they don’t want to have that abortion and save their baby. So it’s super interesting and I think there are options, I mean, adoption is a nice option to an unplanned pregnancy.”

Seeing bold displays of standing up for what you believe makes me ask myself, “What would I have done in that situation?”

Maybe like me you’ve practiced a tactful response in your head and have planned what to say to someone if the topic arises. But when the opportunity comes it can be easy to let fear take over rather than standing up for your faith and voicing a counter-cultural, biblical worldview.

When everyone around you wants to keep you quiet, when the culture tries to redefine what is right- stand strong. I pray that we would all be as courageous as Myrka in standing up for what we believe, especially when lives depend on it.
