American Idol Season 24 Finale Puts Faith in Jesus on Full Display

Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess Jesus is Lord!

Paraphrasing Philippians 2:10-11 feels like the perfect way to describe the American Idol Season 24 finale. It may sound ironic with “Idol” in the title, but throughout this season, many viewers saw faith take center stage.

Let’s start with Season 24 winner Hannah Harper. She kept God at the center of her journey from the very beginning with an emotional story during her audition. It went viral not only because of her original song, “String Cheese,” but also because viewers were drawn to the way she reflected the beauty and ministry of motherhood.

As the season progressed, fans connected even more deeply with Hannah as she shared her life, faith, and role as a mother. Raised in an unconventional way, Hannah spent seven years traveling across the country on a tour bus, using music to share her faith. Now, at just 25 years old and raising three children, her life is full of both challenges and purpose.

After overcoming postpartum depression, Hannah realized motherhood was at the heart of her calling. While her passion for music never faded, she saw American Idol as an opportunity to pursue music professionally while also creating stability for her family.

That dream became reality on Monday night when Hannah was crowned the winner of American Idol Season 24. In one of the night’s most powerful moments, she gave God the glory by performing “At the Cross” after her victory.

Hannah wasn’t the only finalist open about her faith in Jesus. In fact, all three finalists boldly expressed their beliefs throughout the competition.

Keyla Richardson and runner-up Jordan McCullough also performed songs centered on faith during the season and finale.

After advancing to the Top 2, Jordan McCullough reprised his audition performance of “Goodness of God,” a moment that resonated deeply with viewers.

He also wow’d the crowd with his performance of “Dear God.” Some online immediately declared him the winner, but after all the votes were tallied, Hannah Harper won.

Keyla Richardson also delivered a powerful performance of “I Love the Lord” during the grand finale, a performance American Idol said “brought the house down.”

When it was all said and done, this season of American Idol gave viewers multiple moments where faith was put on display — reminding audiences that there is no idol greater than God.
