Graduation is a strange mix of emotions. One moment you feel excited for what’s ahead, and the next you wonder if you’re truly ready for it. For many graduates, the biggest question underneath all the celebrations may be: Am I going to be okay?
In a heartfelt pseudo commencement speech, KSBJ DJ, Morgan Smith, took the time to remind the Class of 2026 that uncertainty is normal, and that God is still present in the unknown.
“The beautiful unknown” is how she described this next season of life. Not because the future will always be easy, but because God has a way of weaving together gifts, passions, mistakes and unexpected turns into something meaningful over time.
Romans 8:28 tells us,
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
The speech also encouraged graduates not to tie their worth to titles, achievements, or social media image. Instead, she told them to focus on character: staying kind, learning from mistakes, being a peacemaker, and trusting God step by step even when life feels unclear. As Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us,
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”
Nobody has everything figured out, even adults are often learning as they go. But through every uncertain moment, God remains faithful.
For anyone stepping into a new chapter, whether graduating or simply navigating change, this message is a comforting reminder that growth often happens in the unknown, and God can create beautiful things with a surrendered life.
Scripture doesn’t offer a life free from uncertainty. It offers something better—a God who is present and active within it to make your life unshakable.
