Millions fell in love with the Robertson family watching their reality TV show on A&E, Duck Dynasty. You probably remember the comedic relief of Uncle Si and maybe you followed Sadie Robertson while she competed on Dancing With the Stars. We all had a front row seat to witness their love for Jesus AND duck hunting as we watched them run their Louisiana business making duck calls.
But now we all have a chance to see the origin story of this dynasty with the two who started it all, Phil and Miss Kay. The story of their relationship has been made into a feature film. It’s a story of redemption as we see Phil Robertson struggle with alcoholism and adultery before finding Jesus. The Robertson family could have gone down a much different path, but they testify how Jesus came into their lives and turned everything around.
Willie Robertson, Phil’s son, said this on Instagram about their family:
“Our family didn’t start with Jesus, but it sure will end with Him”
In Phil’s instagram post he sent love to his wife who stood by him, even when it wasn’t easy:
“Miss Kay, I love you, and I’m grateful to my bones that you kept on loving me. My family is telling our story the way it needs to be told — raw moments, rough edges, good times and bad.”
