Sometimes it’s in our darkest moments that we find ourselves depending on God the most.
Season 4 of The Chosen dives deep into the theme of suffering, something we all experience in life. Dallas Jenkins, the show’s creator, and his wife Amanda have crafted interactive devotionals to accompany each season, with the latest titled God’s Goodness for the Chosen.
Suffering has been a reality in Amanda’s life, too. Juggling a busy schedule, fighting perfectionism, and caring for their chronically ill daughter, Maya—who was born with congenital heart disease—has shaped her own journey of faith.
“It has been through suffering that I have found a rhythm of faithfulness with the Lord.” | Amanda Jenkins
Take refuge in the thought that no matter how much pain you feel, the Lord will always show up and He will always provide. It hurts Him to see us suffer.
“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.'” | Matthew 11:28-30
The Chosen is planned to span seven seasons, and we can’t wait to see the rest of Jesus’ story unfold on screen. Now, you can also dive into the Scriptures that inspired the show!
