Move over veggies, it’s time for the squirrels to shine.
Mike Nawrocki, the co-creator of our beloved veggie friends, has launched a brand-new animated series called The Dead Sea Squirrels.
The show follows Merle and Pearl, two squirrels from biblical times who were preserved in the Dead Sea salt for nearly 2,000 years. When they come back to life in the present day, they team up with a young boy named Michael to share the lessons they learned firsthand from Jesus. Check it out 👇
The voice cast includes some expected members like Mike Nawrocki (Larry the Cucumber), Phil Vischer (Bob the Tomato), and some not-so-expected voices like Duncan Phillips from Newsboys, and even Beth Moore!
But that’s not all—you know anything from the Veggie Tales crew is going to feature some iconic songs. Bart Millard from MercyMe, Matthew West, and Ellie Holcomb have contributed over 20 original songs to the show. Here’s one of the songs from Matthew:
The show premiered on February 14, 2025, and even though some episodes were released on YouTube, it’s available exclusively on the Minno Kids app. So gather the family, grab some popcorn, and dive into this new animated series that will keep you laughing, and maybe singing along.
