Tori Kelly’s Sudden Health Scare Won’t Stop the Release of Her New EP

You know singer, songwriter Tori Kelly from her covers of “So Will I“ and “Reckless Love,” as well as from featuring on hit song “Together” by FOR KING + COUNTRY and “I’ll Find You” by Lecrae.

On July 24, 2023 Tori Kelly was hospitalized after collapsing at dinner with her friends due to blood clots in her legs and lungs. This health scare was a shock to Tori, her family, and her fans and came less than a week before the release of her new self titled album “tori”. She wasn’t dealing with any pre-existing health issues before this sudden incident. In scary times like this it’s important to lean on God and the support of our loved ones.

While in the hospital, Tori wrote a letter to her fans:

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” | Deuteronomy 31:8

We’ve seen so many artists, including Brandon Lake and Natalie Grant, rally around Tori commenting that they would pray for her and for her healing.

Tori’s husband, André Murillo, responded to all the support on his Instagram story on July 29th, 2023:

“I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has prayed for Tori and sent any ounce of love her way. I believe it moved mountains. Fear gripped me hard but God is bigger than my fears.”

André has been so supportive to his wife in this time and even created a letter to cheer Tori up with paw prints from their dogs Frodo and Dobby.

Thankfully, Tori was discharged from the hospital a week later! Please pray for Tori’s continued healing and full recovery. Prayer is powerful. When we join together and believe for God’s healing, miracles happen.
