TODAY Show Hosts Open Up About Their Faith Journeys

This interview had my full attention for 23 minutes straight.

Whether you grew up in church, or have never even heard of Jesus– I guarantee a piece of this interview will connect with you.

Savannah Guthrie, a host on the TODAY show wrote a book with the title “Mostly What God Does is Love You.” Savannah writes to those who struggle to feel a connection with God and how to find him on the highest mountaintop and in the lowest valleys of life.

Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.” | Ephesians 5:2

In light of her recent book, Savannah sat down with some of her co-hosts to share their powerful testimonies despite grief and hardship. (Fun fact: This interview took place in the chapel where Al Roker and his wife got married!)

“If we could really feel God’s love it wouldn’t just transform us, it would be contagious.” | Savannah Guthrie

It is inspiring to watch a group of journalists and reporters who constantly deliver terrible news to share the greatest news ever- that God loves you and there is hope found in Him! We even get a picture of their day-to-day lives with stories of when God showed up in their workplace.

Craig Melven shared when he first received the phone call that his brother had passed away. Savannah was the first face he saw, and they dropped everything and began to pray. This is just one of many powerful moments as these co-workers share their journeys with God.

“God didn’t allow bad things to happen, we allowed it to happen. And if we want to be more like Him, we fight for it.” | Al Roker

As someone who has lost loved ones recently, it felt like a big hug to hear the sentiment that our connection with God is how we hold hands with the ones who have passed on. There were several moments in this interview that I teared up because it was so real and vulnerable. Following Jesus isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it. He loves us, and He makes life beautiful.
