Two things that always remind me of my childhood are classic cartoons and 90s Christian music. Life was easier back in my elementary school days. After doing my homework while listening to my Steven Curtis Chapman CDs, I’d then binge watch cartoons before there was a definition for bingewatching.
Now in a surprising twist my 10 year old self never saw coming, the ultimate CCM and Saturday cartoon crossover just happened. Steven Curtis Chapman was chosen to voice the character Baloo in Disney’s new Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers movie available to watch on Disney+.
Steven Curtis Chapman is already a legend in my book, but this makes him even more cool. On Instagram, Steven shared, “Ever since I was a little boy Baloo has been one of my favorites!” Baloo is one of my favorites too.

The movie was released on May 22, 2022 and already has really good reviews! Which can be rare for cartoon remakes.
According to IMDB, the movie takes place “Thirty years after their popular television show ended.” “Chipmunks Chip and Dale live very different lives. When a cast member from the original series mysteriously disappears, the pair must reunite to save their friend.”
Starring Andy Samberg, Will Arnett, and J.K. Simmons, it sounds like Steven Curtis Chapman is in pretty good company for his first movie role.
