It’s a tricky thing to share publicly a good deed you’ve done. Does it really inspire others or are you just gloating? But this one comes with biblical lesson we can all learn from. Peter wraps up his story,
“Because we tend to celebrate people getting revenge, or “getting what they deserve.”
My question is, when does it end? When does the fighting and anger stop? It’s only when PEACE makes its way in and overcomes.
Remember, everyone may be going through something that you know nothing about.”
How many times have you not just been the recipient of an unknown gesture, cut off, or honk but maybe have done it to a stranger yourself? What if someone came and found you afterward and showed you this level of kindness? This is the level of kindness that the Bible encourages us will make a difference:
Luke 16:27-28 But to those of you who will listen, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
Romans 12:17-19 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Carefully consider what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible on your part, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
