Liberty University Students Had a 24-Hour Worship Revival

I remember that moment when nothing else mattered.

In February 2024, I got the chance to attend a worship conference called “The Send” in Nashville, Tennessee. Bridgestone Arena was lined with thousands of students hungry for God. Michael W. Smith was leading us in the song “Agnus Dei.” In the middle of this beautiful moment of worship, Michael slowly stepped away from the piano and walked off the stage.

But, everyone continued to sing.

Every person in the crowd was singing unto the Lord and giving Him praises. I don’t know how long we sang and worshipped. All I knew, was that I wanted to spend an eternity in that moment, in His presence.

Hundreds of students gathered at Liberty University for prayer and worship. Three hours passed, 15 hours passed, and the next thing you know, they had to open the doors because too many students wanted to be a part of the revival. The students who couldn’t make it inside, stood outside in freezing temperatures to pray and worship.

The collective voices of the students were so loud that they couldn’t hear the worship leaders through the sound system.

“I got to experience a little bit of heaven on earth. Being in a room full of people worshipping and singing was like nothing else.” | Daniel Spinney (Student at Liberty)

The number of students varied from hundreds to thousands throughout the time of worship.

This movement is similar to the Asbury revival that inspired the world in 2023. If one thing is apparent, it’s that Gen Z has a heart of worship and is hungry for God.

There is a reason that worship artists are earning Grammys and colleges like this are having revivals. God is still moving! Check out this interview from Passion 2024, another conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

@passionmusicofficial Our team got together to share some of our reflections from the “Agnus Dei moment” at Passion 2024 and we’d love to hear some of yours! Let us know what you’ve been reflecting on in the comments and if you haven’t watched the full moment yet, check it out today. #callonheaven #passion2024 #passionconference #agnusdei ♬ original sound – Passion Music
