Have you ever heard of a capsicum? Yeah, me either.
It is so fascinating to me that every nation, state, and even down to cities has its own language. As a Southerner, I grew up hearing phrases like “fixin’ to” and “bless your heart.” I was even made fun of in college for saying “supper” instead of dinner.
Phil Joel, musician and former Newsboys member, is originally from New Zealand. New Zealanders also known as “Kiwis” have tons of fun phrases and jargon.
