Virginia Satir, a family therapist, is quoted as saying, “We need four hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth.”
That sounds like a ton of touching to me, but social distancing has opened all of our eyes to how much physical interaction we actually have with each other and how much we need it in our own ways!
