Lecrae admits he’s no expert on Halloween, but he does make some interesting points in his latest YouTube video.
“I look at things from this perspective. There’s the good, there’s the bad, and there’s the redeemable…” He reminds us things are not inherently good or bad. Ultimately, it’s how people decide to use something that determines if it is good or evil.
So when it comes to trick or treating, it all boils down to what we are celebrating.
“I think kids asking for candy is fine…when you begin to celebrate death or celebrate evil or corruption that’s when you start getting into some murky waters.”
At the end of the day, Lecrae says if you feel a moral conviction that you shouldn’t participate in trick or treating then don’t. That is up to you.
What do you think? Is it possible to redeem Halloween?
The Bible says to avoid the appearance of evil. I don’t believe we should celebrate Halloween. I understand about the giving out of candy and we are to be givers, but I feel it is better to have a Fall Harvest party at a church and give out candy there. Just my honest opinion.
