I just want to encourage any singles to truly draw very close to the Lord and be content in His great joy. I have been married twice and now a widow. Although I had two beautiful children that were wonderful gifts from the latter marriage, both marriages were very difficult and even painful emotionally. So my thoughts are -perhaps the Lord is protecting some singles from painful experiences. Even though singleness sometimes was lonely for me as a younger person, if I would have basked myself in God’s love I would not have been so desperate for marriage. Just a… Read more »

I just have to say, thank you for sharing that. It seems like marriage is held up so highly these days and singlehood is almost “poo pooed”, but it’s not. Marriage can be even harder than singlehood, and so many few married people speak into how hard marriage is vs the beauty of singlehood. The beauty of having peace of singlehood vs a horrifying marriage. I’ve had both.

I feel (when I was single) that I needed to justify my singleness so I didn’t appear like I couldn’t find a man.

Singlehood is a blessing to me. I was married to a wonderful man for 33 years then he was called to Heaven. I told him before he left I needed only Jesus to fill the empty space in my heart. I have spent the last three years growing closer to my Lord with absolutely no regrets. God is good and may soon be coming back to gather his people.

We walk by faith and have to put blinders on like a horse pulling a buggy….. avoid distractions that can cause spooked knee jerk reaction causing the stride to break or suffer the pulls on the bit as our good master gets us be back on trackt….. the path of thankful obedience that looks to our Heavenly Father to hear us and help us.😁

I’m single and have been for going on 7 years. I absolutely love my singleness as I’m growing in and with God like never before. I do want and or desire marriage, but I’m not putting any pressure on my God to make it happen, I’m loving my deep faith walk and God knows best. I’m enjoying the single journey and no rush from me on getting married……

So practical! Thank you for your honesty and wise advice.

Singleness is a gift.
To have Christ is to have fullness of joy.
Spend more time in the word to stay FILLED in his joy, his presence, his purity, his knowledge.
Make friends with other singles.

Good stuff!
