Comedian Preaches the Gospel on America’s Got Talent

Comedian Barry Brewer hobbled onto the stage of America’s Got Talent on crutches, due to a basketball injury. He wasn’t going to let a torn achilles keep him from his audition! The stand-up comedian joked that he’d be performing “sit down comedy” today.

Barry actually got his start as a musician playing the piano in church, where he would throw a few jokes in to entertain the audience. Someone told him he was funny and should tell some jokes during the churches concerts and he’s been chasing that dream ever since.

On America’s Got Talent, Barry combines his musical and comedic talent with his hilarious perspective on playing music in the white church vs. the black church. Using John 3:16 as his lyrics, Barry not only presents the gospel once, but TWICE during a 3 minute audition on America’s biggest stage. And the audience (insert Simon Cowell accent here) “LOVED IT!” Now that’s talent!
