Record Breaking Lauren Daigle Song “You Say” Hits 100 Weeks at Number One

Lauren Daigle is quickly becoming the queen of Contemporary Christian Music.

With 2 Grammy Awards, 7 GMA Dove Awards, 5 Billboard Music Awards, 2 American Music Awards, and 4 No. 1 single’s on Billboard Christian Airplay and Hot Christian Songs chart she is no doubt a force to be reckoned with. While all of these superlatives are impressive, Lauren’s latest accomplishment is record breaking and frankly, unheard of.

Her hit song, “You Say” was released as a single on July 13, 2018 and since then has reached the unprecedented milestone of 100 weeks in the No. 1 slot of the Hot Christians Songs chart.

Lauren shared her gratitude to the people who listen to her music in a recent Instagram post:

Forbes put Lauren Daigle’s incredible accomplishment into perspective by comparing it to previous Hot 100 success’:

The longest-running hit on the Hot 100 remains Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road,” which made history when it reached 19 turns at No. 1.

The longest-ruling leader on the Hot Country Songs list is Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line’s “Meant to Be,” which managed 50 spins at No. 1. Over on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs ranking, Marshmello and Bastille’s “Happier” racked up 69 weeks at No. 1, while on the Hot Rock Songs (now the Hot Rock/Alternative Songs) list, Panic! at the Disco’s “High Hopes” recently set a new record when it reached 65 periods in charge.

All of those singles are considered the most successful rulers of all time on their genre-specific charts, but they’re all dozens of turns at No. 1 from matching the feat “You Say” has accomplished this week.

This accomplishment and others like it from top Christian artist’s will hopefully introduce thousands of new people to the Christian genre of music and ultimately to Christ.
