There are behind-the-scenes stories and then there’s a WayFM DJ and Hope Nation personality casually hanging out on a movie set for 10 hours story.
That’s right. As excitement builds for I Can Only Imagine 2, a familiar face within our very own Hope family, Wally, got a firsthand look at the action and even filmed a scene. Sure it’s one scene, but it still counts!
In true “get ready with me” fashion, Wally’s day started with prepping for set life, stepping into the world of lights, cameras, and multiple takes. What followed? Nearly 10 hours on set and a little downtime with none other than This is Us star Milo Ventimiglia.
And in case you’re wondering, Wally says he was incredibly kind and didn’t even call security on him.
The film continues the powerful story audiences first fell in love with back in 2018, inspired by the life and music connected to MercyMe‘s frontman, Bart Millard and Tim Timmons. This next chapter dives even deeper into faith, family, and perseverance and includes at least one scene featuring our now-official “movie insider.”
But the story doesn’t stop there.
Knowing that fellow coworker and audio ninja, Betty Rock, would never believe a casual “Yeah, I hung out with Milo today,” proof was required. So when asked for a photo, Milo raised the bar and said, “Let’s FaceTime her.”
Of course, in classic Betty Rock fashion… she screened the call.
So instead? They left her a video message. Because when you get the chance to prove you’re on a movie set with a Hollywood star, you commit.
Now we’re counting down to see how I Can Only Imagine 2, including the highly anticipated “story of sound mixer Gus,” comes together on the big screen.
Moral of the story?
You never know where your work badge might take you. Sometimes it’s just another day at the office. Other days… it’s lights, camera, Milo.
