Franni Rae, singer/songwriter for We The Kingdom, has publicly announced that she will be leaving band after the rest of their live performances in 2023.
A vast number of fans were saddened by this announcement since Franni has been with the band since the beginning.
“God has been prompting a change of seasons in my heart and I will be honoring that.” | Franni Rae
Franni says that she excited for her for her family to just be family again. Can you imagine being in a band with your family? I can’t even imagine the stresses that come with that. They must plan tours before they can even plan thanksgiving dinner. And as many are sad, they understand that Franni just like all of us has to follow God’s call to move forward or to step back.
There is a Bible story in Acts about Paul and Barnabas. After a season of doing ministry together, they eventually separated. (Acts 15:36-41 NLT)
Even though this situation is completely different circumstances, the bottom line here is that life comes in seasons.
“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” | Ecclesiastes 3:1 NLT
I’m in a season right now where I’m far away from my family for my job. And even though it’s hard sometimes, I know God has called me where I am. Maybe you’re in a difficult season or you’re at a crossroads for a decision that can impact your life.
What Franni did is impressive because it takes strength to follow the will of God for your life when it doesn’t please everyone.
My prayer for Franni is that she would find rest and that God would bless her wherever she goes. My prayer for you is that you follow God’s calling and know that He is with you wherever you go!

My wife and I just saw WTK last night in Cleveland. Sadly we learned that this would be her last show with the band.We are grateful /blessed to have seen Franni one last time (for a season)We wish her and We the Kingdom well as they continue to serve Jesus today and in the future!
Franni we are going to miss you. Praying for you and your family. God bless and keep you in his loving arms. Please don’t be gone to long. Thank you for all you have done. In my life and alot of others lives. Love you sister in Jesus Christ
Selfishly this makes me sad. It takes a lot of humility, obedience and trust to step away, especially in the middle of success. You go girl!
This is a big blow to the band. She is a key linchpin of their success. Such an amazing talent and irreplaceable to the chemistry of the band. But seasons come and go and I am sure she was extremely prayerful on the decision. Hope she returns one day!
God bless wtk
While I am sad (selfishly) about Franni Rae leaving…. I completely support her decision. God first, marriage & family second and then the rest of our devotions. How blessed I have been by Franni’s talents, her precious personality and the beauty of her soul. This change will definitely change the dynamic of WTK but just as Franni will grow from this transition, so too will the group and relationships. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Franni and her hubby…and for my favorite band WTK! I will be praying for everyone involved and want to encourage everyone to allow… Read more »
I will miss the wonderful instrument of Franni Rae’s voice! Wow! God bless your journey. There is nothing more important than community-God, family, church, lost & suffering, neighbors (all inclusive).. Brave child of God may the Lord shine His face upon you and give you peace.
You have made a brave decision. Give as much excellence to your community as you gave to WTK and all your talent.
Shalom…in Christ.
Unto us is born a Savior the Lord Jesus come to redeem us all! EGP
I just started listening to your music. I’m sad she is leaving.
I’ve been watching we the kingdom when they only had three drums two amplifiers now they got to show like Kiss! It’s so good to see! God is good all the time! As far as Fran goes, I do believe she just got married, and I believe they’re trying to make a family! And you can’t be doing that and being on the road 24/7! Give her her space she’ll be back soon enough! Who knows she’ll probably even have some of her own songs and to help share with the band in either case, you can take the musician… Read more »
