Chris Tomlin Is Recording the Oldest Hymn Ever Written

During one of his concerts in the “Holy Forever” Tour, Chris Tomlin shared an exciting story about a piece of ancient parchment uncovered in Egyptian ruins.

Experts were amazed to find it contained not only lyrics but also the music for what is now believed to be the oldest Christian hymn ever discovered. This hymn will even be featured in an upcoming documentary.

Written over 1,800 years ago by the early church, the lyrics still speak powerfully to today’s faith. Chris and Ben Fielding were honored to arrange and record this ancient hymn as a modern worship song, set to release next year. You can hear a sneak peek of it here
