5 Verses to Survive a Hard Day at Work

Let’s be honest—sometimes Mondays are just hard.

Maybe you’re staring at a pile of emails. Maybe you’re running on fumes after a weekend that didn’t feel very restful. Or maybe you’re just tired of the routine and wondering if what you do even matters.

Here’s some good news: it does.

Whether you’re typing at a desk, changing diapers, stocking shelves, or pouring concrete—God sees you. He’s with you. And He can use your work in ways you may never realize.

Scripture reminds us that our everyday efforts are part of something bigger. You’re not just getting through the week—you’re living out a calling. You were made on purpose, for a purpose.

So if you need a little boost today, here are 5 verses to remind you of what really matters. Bookmark them, write them on sticky notes, put them on your lock screen—whatever helps you carry truth into your Monday.

1. Ephesians 2:10

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

2. Proverbs 16:3

“Commit your actions to the Lord,
and your plans will succeed.”

3. 1 Peter 4:10-11

“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 11Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.”

4. Matthew 5:15-16

“No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

5. Isaiah 41:10

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
