Ellen Defends Her Friendship With George W. Bush in the Name of Kindness

Tons of people attacked Ellen on Twitter for something she did at the Dallas Cowboys game. What did she do? Ellen sat next to former President George W. Bush and laughed with him. Instead of giving in to outrage culture, Ellen called former President Bush her friend and said, “When I say, ‘Be kind to one another,’ I don’t mean only the people that think the same way that you do. I mean, ‘Be kind to everyone.'”

Her statement faintly echoes Jesus’ call to his disciples.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” (Matthew 5:43-44)

Watch her funny and heartfelt monologue. It reminds us Twitter Mobs and Cancel Culture don’t have to win.
