Phil Wickham and Brandon Lake Open Up on Why They Write Worship Music

Most Christian music interviews you see are with one artist and an interviewer. Join us for this unique experience to hear two friends, who happen to be world class worship leaders and songwriting powerhouses, talk about what it’s like to write worship music for this generation.

“Write about the people around you, put a face to a song. When I’m writing a song, I think of specific people I can’t wait to give this to because I see them declaring this.” Phil adds, “If you can just think of those people in your life that can just sing this over their family right now, if they could just step into this moment and place of worship.”

A viewer on YouTube shared that “as a struggling songwriter it’s so encouraging to see other peoples stories and journeys. It’s a blessing to have mentors and heroes you may never meet representing Jesus and being an inspiration to others like myself.”

I am a big music lover especially worship songs, hearing worthy of my song by Phill was a mind blowing. B’cos it’s a reflection of my pass and am truly grateful. I really do enjoy Brandon’s gratitude. God richly bless y’all. My kids just love y’all.
