Imagine walking into church and getting hit with a flash mob — for you!

That’s exactly what happened to Tauren Wells.

The Grammy-nominated artist, pastor, and now author got the ultimate surprise from his church family. To celebrate the release of his first book, Joy Bomb: Unleash Jesus’s Explosive Joy for an Extraordinary Life, they broke out into a full-on dance party.

Tauren looked completely shocked, and the joy in the room was so contagious he couldn’t help but join in and bust some moves of his own. You could just feel how much they love and believe in him.

And honestly, what better way to celebrate a book all about joy?

Let’s Talk About Joy Bomb

Tauren’s new book Joy Bomb isn’t just about being happy when things are good. It’s about finding real, explosive joy — the kind that doesn’t depend on your circumstances.

In the book, Tauren dives into the Beatitudes (those “blessed are the…” verses from the Bible) and shows how they aren’t just a list of nice sayings — they’re actually a blueprint for the kind of joy God wants for us.

One of my favorite lines from the book is this:

It’s not about pretending life is perfect. It’s about knowing that God’s joy can meet you right in the middle of whatever you’re going through. Tauren sat down with WayFM DJ Wally to chat about all thing Joy Bomb and the idea of mourning and joy co-existing.

Why It Matters

The flash mob, the dancing, the smiles — it all points back to what Tauren’s trying to remind us: Joy is meant to be shared. It’s meant to be celebrated. The book releases on May 20th, but you can pre-order it now pretty much anywhere books are sold.
