The band played the beginning riff, and Joe said, “You guys aren’t even ready!” 🎸
The Jonas Brothers kicked off their massive JONAS20 tour in New Jersey with a surprise that sent every millennial kid in the crowd straight back to their iPod minis: they brought out Switchfoot.
Switchfoot is the band behind the anthems that defined a generation’s youth group days (and apparently the Jo Bros’ too).
Joe Jonas set the moment up perfectly by talking about the band’s early influences, then out walked Jon Foreman and the guys. The stadium erupted as they launched into “Meant to Live,” and suddenly 60,000 people were back in 2003. Switchfoot even stuck around to jam on “Hold On,” one of the Jonas Brothers’ own early deep cuts.

The Jonas Brothers have been shouting out Switchfoot for years, Nick once said The Beautiful Letdown “changed our lives” and they recently invited the band to help co-write the title track of their brand-new album.
So, the surprise collab was a full-circle moment: the band that inspired the Jonas Brothers as teenagers now sharing the stage with them as rockstars.
