3 Things You Didn’t Know About Anne Wilson (That Third One Gets Real!)
Posted 2 hours ago - Oct 16, 2026
From: Hope NationYou know Anne Wilson for songs like My Jesus, her powerful voice and music that points people straight to Jesus. But what about the Anne Wilson you don’t see on stage?
Let’s just say there’s more to her than big vocals and even bigger faith.
During an interview with Houston radio station, KSBJ, we learned three things you might not know about her!
Check it out!
1. She Has Strong Feelings About Her Water
Some people sneak snacks into movie theaters. Anne? She sneaks in water.
She admits she’s a little OCD about having her water with her, so apparently, even a movie night requires proper hydration. Honestly, staying hydrated is important. We respect the commitment. 😂
2. Her Social Media Isn’t Even on Her Phone
Imagine being a recording artist in the age of endless scrolling… and not having social media on your phone!
Anne says she lets her team manage her social pages instead. In a world where it’s easy to get caught up in likes, comments, and everyone else’s highlight reel, that boundary sounds pretty refreshing.
And it connects to something much deeper she opened up about in her KSBJ interview.
3. She’s Had to Learn to Believe the Words She Sings
This one GETS REAL!
When My Jesus took off, Anne discusses how she went from being a girl from Kentucky to having people recognize her, ask for pictures, and scream her name. That kind of attention can be exciting, but she shared how much it affected her as a young woman still figuring out who she was.
Behind the songs that were giving other people Hope, Anne Wilson was wrestling with her own identity. Even though she was singing about Jesus and giving God the glory, she admitted there were times when she struggled to fully believe the very truths she was singing.
What helped her move forward? Learning to stop comparing herself to others and finding her identity in Christ.
As Anne puts it, we weren’t made to be glorified, "We're made to glorify God."
That shift became personal enough for her to write Who I Am to You, a song about discovering who she is in God’s eyes.
And that’s a reminder worth holding onto: You can encourage someone else with a truth you’re still learning to live out yourself. Faith isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about continuing to turn toward Jesus as He reminds you who you are.
