Would you make these same mistakes? Jesus told this parable in response to a simple request. The answer was a parable about a man in a strong financial position, but all of a sudden he wanted more. In this story there is a progression of four shifts that quickly occur and they still occur today, competing for your attention, but you CAN avoid them.

In this episode, we discuss the challenge of wanting more:
●     Luke 12- Verses 13 to 21, a well known parable
●     One’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions
●     So is the one who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

Key Takeaways – The progression of four powerful shifts:
●     Shift 1- More abundance created opportunity and new temptation
●     Shift 2- He began to think inwardly instead of outwardly, and a change of perspective began to form
●     Shift 3- There was a shift in his heart and his motives, he was now concerned with his personal well being
●     Shift 4- A change in his actions based on selfish, inward thinking

“Dictionary.com says a fool is a ‘silly or stupid person, a person who lacks judgment or sends a weak-minded or idiotic person.’ Wow, that is a pretty harsh description. But people like that are found around us.”
–       John Putnam
