After decades playing bass with NEEDTOBREATHE, Seth Bolt is officially stepping away from the band—and honestly, the way he shared the news had me tearing up.

He posted a video with the guys, and it wasn’t just a formal announcement. It was emotional, honest, and full of love. Seth said one of the big reasons he’s leaving is to be more present with his family, especially his daughter. And get this: during her first year of life, she literally called the phone “Dada” because that’s how she saw him. Oof. That hit hard.
But here’s the sweet part—he’s not just disappearing. Seth’s going to join the band for one final acoustic tour this fall, kind of like a farewell road trip with his brothers to celebrate all the memories they’ve made together.
And if you’re already emotional, just wait. The band made a video where they (and some fans) try to guess NEEDTOBREATHE songs from different albums and eras. It’s such a fun way to look back—and it reminds you just how much music they’ve made and how many seasons of life they’ve shared with us.
Seth leaving is the end of an era, for sure. But the way he’s doing it—with intention, gratitude, and a lot of heart—feels like the perfect sendoff.
