This Woman Reminds Me of Jesus When I Scroll Twitter

From: Rebecca (Rebie) IkesJackie Hill Perry is a Jesus-loving writer, speaker, poet, wife, and mom. She’s also one of my favorite people to follow on Twitter right now.
I’m halfway through her book Gay Girl, Good God and let me tell you – wow! This woman’s God-given understanding of the Gospel, sin, and faith is inspiring in a special way. I’d encourage you to check out her book, but in the meantime, here’s why I think you’d benefit from following her on Twitter.
Her insights on faith and the Gospel help me stay grounded.
She encourages my faith and reminds me of what’s true.
You don’t have feel faithful to be faithful.

I was encouraged by a very simple truth today: I always have access to God.
I don’t have to travel to a temple.
I don’t have to worry about if He’ll be too busy to hear me when I call and when I call, I know He’s not distracted. At anytime, in anyplace, I can reach God.— Jackie Hill Perry (@JackieHillPerry) July 14, 2019
2. She’s not afraid to talk about the hard stuff (and she does so respectfully.)
There are moments I’m not sure I agree with her 100%, but I always respect how she handles herself. Even in those unsure moments, she inspires me to think critically and put the Gospel first.
Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul.- Psalms 66:16 https://t.co/x8Ubg9WrHd pic.twitter.com/prNDC4ql4b

The secularization of a nation isn’t a bad thing in the grand scheme of things. If anything, the gospel will shine and the costly submission to Christ will create an environment where Christians are actually Christians. Nominalistic faith won’t be as common in such a society.

Have you ever wondered how not being clear about where you stand with LBGTQ issues can actually be more damaging? I appreciate @GraceBaldridge for challenging churches to be more transparent.

Dear Parents of Unbelieving Children, just because your children are rejecting what you’ve taught doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten it.

3. She’s quite funny.
It’s not all serious. I like that she appreciates humor.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but wash your hands.

I used to think my Mother was weird for watching HGTV all of the time.
Now, I watch HGTV all of the time.

I’ve been forgetting that the Twitter app is on my phone. No wonder I’ve had more peace as of late.
Thank God.

Conclusion
No Twitter account can replace reading the Bible for yourself, but I like the way Jackie points me to Jesus in the middle of my fast and mindless scrolling.
