There’s a lot to be outraged about.
Rightfully so.
Breonna Taylor was killed and true accountability seems like a facade.
2 Los Angeles sheriffs were ambushed by a coward criminal and are fighting for their lives.
Digital streaming services (all of them) are putting out more and more disgusting content.
Political parties are politicizing a virus that doesn’t care who you vote for.
There’s a lot.
And you will become passionate about a certain issue.
And I applaud that.
But what you can’t do is weaponize your outrage against someone else’s outrage.
This isn’t a competition.
God will place individual passions on your heart and the purpose of that isn’t to judge someone else’s passion, but rather to propel you to do something about what has come alive in your heart.
Nobody has been accusing people who started orgs to fight human trafficking of not caring about Black lives.
Nobody has been accusing people who have been working for years with black children in urban contexts of not caring about the lives of police officers.
No.
Nobody does that.
Until now.
Just because someone has a passion to see justice done in one area doesn’t mean they have to speak into all areas of justice.
Can you imagine someone asking Mother Teresa “but what about the the crime that the poor you serve are committing? What about those victims?! You are such a hypocrite MOTHER TERESA!”
That’s ridiculous right?
Of course it is.
So stop doing it now.
This isn’t a game.
It’s not a contest.
Be passionate about what you are passionate about…
But stop wasting energy judging others for not sharing the same passion and instead use that energy to make another dent in the injustice you are fighting.
It’s better that way…
