I Can Only Imagine, the 2018 movie about MercyMe’s Bart Millard, is getting a sequel.
Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate announced that production for I Can Only Imagine 2 will begin during the spring of 2025. The sequel will continue the story of the band and Bart Millard, once again played by John Michael Finley.
Other returning cast members include Dennis Quaid, reprising his role as Arthur, and Trace Adkins, who returns as Scott Brickell, MercyMe’s manager. Millard revealed on social media that the movie will tell the story of his song “Even If.”

Bart has shared that his son’s chronic illness inspired the song “Even If,” touching on the emotional journey of unanswered prayers. For anyone going through a similar struggle, this movie could provide the encouragement and hope you need.

A new addition to the cast, Milo Ventimiglia who may know from TV shows like Gilmore Girls and This Is Us, will play singer/songwriter Tim Timmons.
