From: Jennifer BurrellA deadly line of storms made their way across Mississippi, March 24, producing a tornado that left over 100 miles of destruction and took the lives of 21 people. WTVA Meteorologist, Matt Laubham, was reporting live tornado coverage, Friday evening and watching the catastrophic EF-4 tornado that had just caused devastating damage in Rolling Fork, MS, and was heading straight for Amory, MS. Knowing there were a city full of people in its path, he asked them to find a safe place.
You can see the feeling of hopelessness in Matt’s face, knowing that his words could only bring a small amount of help against the vastly powerful storm. So, he stops in the middle of his broadcast and prays to the God has the power to calm the wind and the waves! Matt doesn’t speak for a few seconds, overwhelmed by the situation beyond human control, then prays these simple words “Jesus, please help them, amen.”

People expressed their support in the Twitter comments, grateful for Matt’s prayer that brought hope in the storm.
The people of Mississippi need us to follow Matt’s example and continue praying for them. NWS Jackson Meteorologist Bill Parker told FOX Weather,
“I’ve been in the National Weather Service now for 28 years, and this is probably the worst tornado damage assessment that I’ve ever seen. This is very catastrophic.”
