Let’s be honest, summer TV is usually the best binge season. The Christian TV/Film world has been showing up big time lately, and instead of scrolling on Netflix again for 30 minutes, we’ve made it easy for you.
Whether you’re into epic Bible drama, quirky comedy, or animated angels with swords (yep, that’s real), there’s something worth adding to your queue. Here’s your guide to the next five shows on your radar:
1. Testament
Premiere Date: June 8, 2025
Where to Watch: Angel Studios
If The Book of Acts and The Hunger Games had a baby, this would be it. Testament retells the early church’s story, but set in a modern world where the Roman Empire never fell.
You’ll follow Peter, Mary Magdalene, and a pre-Damascus Saul as they try to survive (and spread the gospel) in a society that’s not exactly Jesus-friendly. Think intense political drama, underground church meetings, and the kind of courage that’ll make you want to reread Acts.
2. The Chosen: Season 5
Premiere Date: June 15, 2025 (in 3 parts!)
Where to Watch: Amazon Prime Video
The Chosen is back, and things are getting serious. Season 5 is officially titled The Last Supper, and as you might guess, we’re heading into the final days of Jesus’ ministry. Expect big emotions, deeper character moments, and more quotable one-liners from Matthew. The season drops in three batches, so there’s just enough time to rewatch Season 4 if you’re behind.
3. Gabriel and the Guardians
Premiere Date: Already out!
Where to Watch: Angel Studios
It’s being called the first Christian anime, honestly? It looks awesome. Gabriel and the Guardians is a fantasy adventure set in a world where good and evil are battling it out in epic fashion. The Eternal Seed has been stolen, and Gabriel has to team up with a giant warrior and a brainy princess to get it back. It’s giving Lord of the Rings meets Bible camp energy.
4. The Promised Land
Premiere Date: Summer 2025 (but the pilot is already on YouTube!)
Where to Watch: YouTube
If you’ve ever thought, “What if Moses led the Israelites…but it was filmed like The Office?” your oddly specific dream just came true. The Promised Land is a comedy series that treats the Exodus like a workplace sitcom, complete with confessionals and divine plagues.
The pilot racked up over a million views on YouTube, and rumor has it a full season is coming this summer. It’s hilarious, it’s weird, and somehow… it works.
5. Duck Dynasty: The Revival
Premiere Date: June 1, 2025
Where to Watch: A&E
They’re baaaack. Duck Dynasty: The Revival is bringing the Robertson crew back to TV. This new season follows Willie and Korie as they juggle business, semi-retirement, and grandparenting, all while keeping the faith front and center. Expect prayer, laughter, and beard jokes aplenty. If you missed the family chaos with a side of Scripture, it’s time to dive back in.
Whether you’re a Chosen die-hard, rooting for Gabriel, or just in it for the laughs, there’s something here worth your screen time. But WAIT… there’s more! Check out the Christian films you don’t want to miss this year. ⬇️
