16 Christian Artists Sing “How Great Thou Art” and It Will Give You Instant Chills

📣Calling all worship and Christian music fans! 📣 Let’s play a game. I’ll give you a list of names and you count how many you recognize.

Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Cody Carnes, Kari Jobe, Jon Reddick, Blessing Offor, TAYA, Naomi Raine, Pat Barrett, Mitch Wong, Matt Maher, Bethel, Hillary Scott, & Tommee Profitt.

Okay, I’m done. I guarantee you at least checked off 2 or 3. These are just a few names of the artists who collaborated to celebrate the 75th anniversary of a foundational hymn. Can you believe “How Great Thou Art” is 75 YEARS OLD? And the results, are heavenly.

Not only are they reviving this iconic hymn for a good cause, but they are writing a brand new verse to bring hope in a hopeless time. Check it out.

My co-writer Mitch Wong and I were keen in this new lyric to acknowledge the reality of the broken and warring world we live in – but then to sing with faith and hope over that. I loved seeing the song come to life in the recording moment – with 15 friends, some of the most wonderful worship leaders and artists around, joining together in the studio. Best of all, the proceeds – wherever this song is sung or listened to – will benefit The Stuart Hine Trust CIO bringing humanitarian relief in Eastern Europe.” | Matt Redman

I don’t know about you, but I think that was powerful. I always loved hearing my mawmaw tell stories of how whenever her kids were scared of a storm outside, they would sit together and “How Great Thou Art.” This song is foundational to the church and is the story of many lives and testimonies.

And we will continue to proclaim how great He is!
